Meet the Maker - The questions you all want answered

So its our first blog post and what a better way to start off than by answering some questions I get asked all the time! This post has been a long time in the making and to be deadly honest, I didn’t have a clue how to even add this to the site. I asked out TLC VIP Cowgirls Facebook group what they would like to know about me, So here goes!

Why did you start TLC?

Like most business ventures it all started with a want for something. I really wanted to add all the beautiful leather plaited necklaces I seen on Instagram to my wardrobe. But being in the USA it just wasn't possible or financially viable to do so.

I had learn how to plait working in Far North Queensland a few years ago working on a cattle station and finding a need to make horse equipment. So I went to the local craft shop, bought some suede cord and got to work.

Like everything, it took some time to perfect, and lots of wrongly measured cords but with more practice the plait quality got better and I become addicted! Before I new it I had a stockpile of necklaces that I couldn't physically wear all of. So as most hobbyist do, I turned to Facebook.

Where did the name come from?

I was scrolling through Pinterest one night mindlessly looking at western fashion, with no intention to name my business; when one image came through that I just loved. It was a girl wearing a pair of cowboy boots with her feet out the window of a blue Chevy. The Lazy Cowgirl just fit perfectly.

The name is a little bit of irony really, I started my own small business to give myself some freedom and spare time, but now I'm working harder than ever, but love every minute of it!

What do you do for work?

Currently I work 2 jobs, as well as study. Strapping racehorses of a morning for a local trainer and the rest of the day is spent in a rural store specialising in animal health and nutrition which I am very passionate about.

What are your hobbies?

Riding my horses is something I never get much time to do these days but love every minute of, in summertime I get much more time with them but currently in winter its just not possible until weekends. I also love taking my dogs out for a play at the river or the farm. Reading is another but I don't have time for it anymore sadly!

How does TLC work behind the scenes?

So everything you see with TLC is done by myself, sometimes with the help of some amazing friends and family. Once materials arrive to make the earrings, usually I make them up, test a set out for quality and design issues then move on to photography and loading online.

Once your order arrives its packed within 3 business days, usually late at night or sometimes in my lunch break then off the go to the post office for you to enjoy!

What's the plan for the future?

TLC is expanding and will continue to grow. We are trying to stay unique and focused on providing the best western accessories in Australia
